Scott Martin Gosnell of Rainy River, Ontario passed away on May 11, 2017 Riverside Health Centre – Long Term Care, Rainy River site, with his daughters by his side.
Scott was born on December 22, 1925 at the family homestead in Blue Township to Arthur and Mabel Gosnell. He was the second oldest child of six children. During his lifetime he worked in the bush as a logger, farmed, and was a Conductor for the CN Railway. He was a humble and generous man whom put his family as top priority. Second to his family, was supporting individuals in recovery from alcohol addiction.
In 1958 Scott married Olga Kolisnyk and they enjoyed forty six years together. The majority of their married life was spent farming and raising their three children – Timothy, Anna and Kimberley. In February of 2004 Olga passed away unexpectedly and Scott often remarked on not knowing what to do without his life partner.
Scott leaves to mourn his two daughters Anna and Kimberley of Sleeman, Ontario, his brother Jim and family of Kenora, Ontario, his sister Audrey and family of Kenora, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, two infant brothers, his brother Roy Gosnell, his brother in law Bill Kolisnyk, his sister in law Sophia Pochalio, his wife and soul mate Olga and his son Timothy.
A graveside service is planned for May 18, 2017 at Blue Township cemetery. In lieu of donations family requests that a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or LTC – Rainy River
