HEARN, Sarah Alice “Sadie”- Age 79, Port
Hawkesbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the
Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Point Tupper, Richmond
Co., she was a daughter of the late Colin Francis and Mary Alice
(Hayes) Ryan.
Sadie was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury and
was also a member of the Point Tupper Heritage Association and she
also belonged to the former Lion’s Club of Port Hawkesbury
for many years.
Surviving are her daughters, Theresa Hearn (Randy), Oxford;
Debby (Kirk) Cavicchi, Hubley; son, Everette, Port Hawkesbury;
daughter-in-law, Connie Hearn, Stephenville, NL; sister, Ruby (Lorne)
John, Head of St. Margaret’s Bay; grandchildren, Brent,
Lindsay, Blair, Jillian, Leah and Joshua; great-grandchildren,
Cameron, Jenna, Emma, Jack, Colin, Joseph, Jacob and Amaya. She is
also survived by special cousins, Alice MacIntosh and Alice Beaton, of
Port Hawkesbury; sisters-in-law, Karen (Jim), Evelyn and Betty. She
was predeceased by her husband, Fred; son, Colin; brothers, John and
Harold.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with
Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery.
Memorial donations in Sadie’s memory may be made to
the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to St. Joseph Parish
Cemetery Fund. Family flowers only please. Words of comfort may be
