Samuel Owen
Sam Owen, longtime resident of Crooked Creek, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, after a courageous battle with COPD, with his loving family by his side, at the age of 76 years.
Sam was born in Ashmont, AB, on December 10, 1940. He married Darlene on August 4, 1973, and they were married for 43 years.
Sam worked as a mechanic for AGT for 17 years, alongside running the family farm for 32 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, quading, camping, spending time with friends, watching his kids and grandkids play any sport, and watching NHL hockey.
Sam is survived by his wife Darlene Owen; daughter Nicole (Pierre) Cormier and grandchildren: Kyrra, Gabe, Brooke-Lynn, and Xavier; son Sam (Desiree) Owen and grandchildren: Brettley, Sammi, and Nash; granddaughter Alicia Bruner; great-grandson Keygan; grandson Josh Smith; brothers: Arnold, Tom, George, and Wayne; and sisters: Sandra and Cheryl.
He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Gertrude Owen and daughter Heather Owen.
In lieu of a Funeral Service, there will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the DeBolt Ball Diamonds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kidsport (Box 851, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3R5).
