Ruth Mathilda (Cole) Nicholson – May 8, 1927 – August 20, 2017 (age 90)

Ruth Mathilda Nicholson was born in 1927 to George and Myrtle Cole. She attended school in Ponoka and after finishing school worked as a waitress. Ruth met and married Everett Nicholson in 1946. They lived in the Calumet District and then bought a farm in the Fertile Forest District where they ran a mixed farm and raised their children – Carol, Dwight, and Wendy. When Everett passed away in 1988, Ruth moved to Ponoka and then to Wetaskiwin.
Ruth was predeceased by an infant son Ricky, parents George and Myrtle, husband Everett and siblings Don, Irene, and George.
She is survived by her children Carol (Doug) Hemeyer, Dwight Nicholson, and Wendy (Ken) Motiuk; grandchildren Brent, Brenda (Eddy), Matt (Melissa), and Katlyn (Kenny); and great-grandchildren Hayden and Scarlett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Forest Home Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017.
