Ruth Joan Hill was a loving wife to her late husband Charles Hill (October, 2009.) Ruth passed away peacefully at the Rocmaura Nursing Home on March 24, 2017. Born on May 13, 1930 in St. Stephen to the late Albert and Harriet Keating, Ruth worked at the Ganong Chocolate Factory for many years before she married and moved to Saint John and started working at the K-Mart as a door greater for many years then retired.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by sons Lawrence Hill and David (Crystal) Hill of Morna Heighs; grandchildren Cory Hill, Eric Hill of Saint John; granddaughter Melissa (Corey) Cheviare; two great-grandchildren Nathaniel and Connor McKinnon-Hill.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home on Monday, March 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Internment will take place in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery in the Spring 2017. Donations in Ruth’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
