She will be remembered by her daughter, Rochelle Vigurs of Massachusetts; and son, Leagh Vigurs of California; her two grandchildren, Adrian and Lara Berry of Toronto; and three great-grandchildren, Deryck, Amelia, and Miles.
Ruth was born and lived most of her life in Vancouver, and after the second war she stabled and rode her own horse on the trails of Stanley Park. As a young person she was an accomplished pianist and in her early twenties she worked downtown at Kelly’s record store. She amassed a large collection of opera 78s and all of her life drew great pleasure from her love of classical music.
The family extends special thanks to the warm and attentive staff at St. Vincent’s Langara who took such good care of her during her final years.
Inurnment at Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, BC near the resting place of her mother Lily Rae Whitby (1905-1994) and grandmother Helen Suttis Cameron (1870-1966).
