Obituary for Ruth Florence Cook
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ruth Cook on Sunday, October 29th. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Ray and her daughter Rita Nault, and nine siblings, and survived by her brother, Roy (Betty). She will be sadly missed by her seven children, and their spouses, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Her favorite hobbies were going to Polo Park with her special niece Evie, doing word searches and Jumbles and walks to McDonald’s with Dad. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember her fondly for her supply of Hawkins Cheezies and cookie tins full of cookies. Mum loved to play the piano and could pick up any tune by ear. She enjoyed her phone calls from brother Roy and her niece Janet.
Ruth was born in 1926 and grew up on the family dairy farm in Rosser, Manitoba. This is where she learned her love of music and developed her strong work ethic. She enjoyed going to the dances at Patterson’ Barn with her brothers and sisters. This is where she met the love of her life Ray. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage and raised their family in the house in Brooklands.
Special thanks to her niece Evie for her special companionship and many trips to Polo Park. Many thanks to the staff on the fifth floor, Unit 3 and 2 at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Private family funeral to follow.
