Paul: Russell Hubert Paul, age 63, of Swift Current and formally of Simmie, passed away May 26, 2017 while working in his pasture fencing. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 2, 2017 from First United Church with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The Life Tribute was read by his nephew and god son, Tim Criddle. The Urn Bearer was his nephew Greg Paul. The Ushers were Rod and Jackie Hunter and Larry and Pam Hopfner. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in Russell’s life. Russell is survived by his wife Sandi; daughter Lisa (Rick Vinck), sons Kirk and Kevin (Ashlyn Erlandson); grandsons Chantz and Landon Vinck; 6 sisters, 4 brothers and their families, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and their families and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother and father Marion and Hubert Paul; mother and father-in-law Bayard and Violet Benallack; sister-in-law Jane Paul and brother-in-law Edgar Huss. Russell was born on September 25, 1953 in Swift Current. He attended school at Silver Craig, St Pat’s, Irwin and S.C.C.H.S. He married Sandra Benallack on July 30, 1983 at St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Gull Lake. Russell worked on Seismic crews, farmed, ranched and drove Heavy Haul Trucks over the years. He was a member of the Simmie Kinsmen Club and also enjoyed playing fastball, curling and hockey. He also enjoyed listening to country music and watching Heartland on T.V. Russell truly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors on the farm, working with his cattle and being with his family. He also enjoyed tinkering and fixing old machinery and vehicles and did some landscaping in his spare time. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
