In his 92nd year, Rudolf Schöni passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2017, at home with his family at his side. He leaves behind his mourning wife Hedwig of 63 years, his children Rudy (Doris) Schöni, Martin Schöni, Peter (Maya) Schöni, Evi (Heini) Dändliker, Thomas (Irene) Schöni, and Christine Schöni. Predeceased by his twin children Fritz and Hedwig, as well as 6 of his siblings from Switzerland. Beloved brother of surviving siblings Trudy Wüthrich, Vreni Schär, Gottfried (Annalies) Schöni, Annerös (Hans) Christen, all from Switzerland. Cherished by his 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He leaves behind extended family and friends in Canada and abroad. His journey of life took him from Emmental, Switzerland to Russell, Ontario in 1981, where he fulfilled his lifelong passion for farming. Family and friends are invited to pay their respect at Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St. (Between Scrivens Dr. and Metcalfe Corner) on Wednesday, May 10th from 7-9pm, and Thursday, May 11th at 10am followed by a Service in the Chapel at 11am. Interment at North Russell Union Cemetery. Donations to St. Andrews United Church in Russell, or the Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
