Ruby Rodger, 87, of Georgetown ON, passed away on Sunday 19 March in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. Ruby’s family were with her in Napanee and she passed away very peacefully and surrounded with love. At Ruby’s request she will be cremated at Jones Funeral Home and a family Celebration of Life will take place when all international family members are able to join us. Ruby was born in Buckhaven, Fife, Scotland to Mary (nee Goldie) and Peter Cargill on December 27, 1929. She devoted most of her life to bringing up her four children while proving she could be an excellent shop manager for her own hairdressing business and Matheson’s Shoes Stirling Scotland. Ruby was a vibrant and active member of Cote Terrace Georgetown, being one of the first residents. She also enjoyed line dancing and lawn bowling, but her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always her first love.
Ruby is survived by her ex-husband George Rodger in Kirkcaldy, Fife Scotland, children Marian, Kim, Christine and Brian, and grandchildren Andrea, Cori, Amy, Peter, Emma, Erin, Joe, Erin and Jenna.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Palliative Care and especially to Dr. Basia Farnell for such very kind and excellent care.
