Roy Edward Ford – 1927 – 2017

FORD, Roy Edward
1927 – 2017
Roy passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital with his daughter, Heather, by his side on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017. He was soulmate, best friend, and husband to wife, Paulie, who died in 2005. They were business partners in Paul Ford Photography Studios in Kitchener for 10 years, and then the Green Acres Inn for 48 years. A Charter Member of his much loved Kingston-Frontenac Rotary Club, he loved travel, gardening, great food, The River, and boating in his classic wooden boat, the Paulie C. Roy leaves behind his daughter, Heather, and her family: Paul, Laird, Chauncey, Daniel, Courtney, soon to be Baby Girl Barrett, and many friends. A special thank-you to the teams at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care Hospital who compassionately cared for Dad during the past 10 weeks. Roy is in the care of James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard. A gathering will take place on Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at Fort Frontenac Officers’ Mess, 317 Ontario Street, Kingston from 3 pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kingston-Frontenac Rotary Club’s Erle Allan Trust Fund – an organization that supports youth and senior needs, where Roy was a Trustee for decades – are appreciated. (Please make cheques payable to: Erle Allan Trust Fund. Your contribution will be accepted at James Reid Funeral Home).
