Roxanne
Christine Hopper, 80, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on August
28th, 2017 at the Forest Dale Home.
Roxanne was born in
Killarney, Manitoba on May 6, 1937 the daughter of the late
Wallace and Christina (Colliss) McLatchy. She
worked in real estate and also worked as a secretary with the Revenue
office in Hopewell Cape before retiring. She was an active
member of the Hillsborough United Church, having
taught Sunday School and guided the teen youth
group for several years , singing in the church choir and also taking
part in the bell choir. She was a member of the Hillsborough
Home & School Board and helped out in her community whenever
possible. She enjoyed entertaining, refinishing furniture
and she loved to travel. Roxanne will be remembered for her
kindness to everyone, her hearty laugh and her big smile.
She was always joking around and having fun with her family and
friends. She is now at peace and listening to the beautiful
choir above with her Lord and Saviour by her side.
She will be deeply
missed by her loving and devoted husband, Donald Hopper of
Hillsborough; son, Eric Hopper (Peggy) of Fredericton and daughter,
Corinne Masson of Moncton; her treasured grandchildren, Rachel,
Nicholas and Brennan; brother, Robin McLatchy (Trish) of
Demorestville, ON; nephews, Mark and Jeffrey and by all her extended
family and many close friends.
Honouring Roxanne’s own wishes
there will be no visitation. A Celebration of her Life will
be held at the Hillsborough United Church
on Monday, September 4th, 2017 at
2:00pm with Rev. Carol Mullin
officiating. The family will be meeting with relatives and
friends following the service at the church reception area for further
fellowship and for refreshments. Interment will be in the
Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB.
