Obituary of Rose Moore
We all must say goodbye, eventually. With broken hearts, the family of Rose O. Moore announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, February 18, 2017 after experiencing slowly declining health. She was 92. She will be lovingly welcomed into Heaven with open arms by those who went before her.
Born in Stratford in 1924 to parents Edwin Henry Kressler and Martha Elizabeth Barbara Diegel, Rose is survived by siblings Florence McDermott, Jack Kressler, and Chere Ramore (Jim). They all lived challenging lives through the Depression and World War II, but still managed to flourish. Rose was happily married for 19 years to Grant Moore who predeceased her in 1967, far too young.
The Kressler, Moore, Jackson, and Wilson families are proud and blessed with Rose’s legacy as a cherished and nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Loving mother to Heather Jackson (Bob) and Connie Wilson (Don); Nana to four grandchildren, Rod (Joanne), Greg (Faith), Ryan (Kristina), Christy (Ben); and Nana Rose to seven great-grandchildren, Abbey, Will, Con, Emily, Ashley, Kennedy and Kai. Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Rose was blessed with lifelong friendships with brothers-in-law Neil and Keith and sister-in-law Lois.
Rose was also blessed with great friends. She shared her love of travel with some, was inspired by her art group, french club, bridge club, the gourmet group, and theatre and concert friends. With great task planning, Rose somehow found time to work as the church secretary, volunteer for her community and Mount Zion Church, offer her help happily, took courses at the local University for fun, and was always there for her family.
Our thanks go to a very special person in Mom’s life, Anne Woolner, who Mom thought of as her third daughter. Anne was so attentive, kind, and willing to do anything to make Mom’s life happier. You were a blessing to us all.
Rose left this earth as she lived . . . quietly, with grace and dignity. We are all better for having known her and witnessing her strength and resilience in life. She will be dearly missed. Until we meet again.
A memorial service will take place at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd. S., Waterloo on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. Pastor Philip Mathai will officiate. A luncheon will follow to honour Rose; allow us to visit and hopefully share a smile.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to one of Rose’s favourite charities: Open Sesame Headstart Preschool, Mount Zion Lutheran Church (of which she was one of the founding members), or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Donations may be arranged by contacting the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Rose
