November 22 1958 November 25 2017 (age 59)
Passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Concordia Hospital.
Rose was a very beautiful, strong woman who had a gift for being there for everyone, knowing what to do and when to do it. She was a strong advocate for anyone who needed her help. Rose worked in various positions over the years in child welfare, training, and teaching. She loved teaching and working with families, this was her passion and where she felt she could use her skills to make an impact. She was a quiet humble leader and she made things happen. She was a fantastic listener; she asked the right questions and then challenged systems. She had a particular knack for challenging the province in child welfare, at first it was hard for her but she always managed to change their mindset and won their respect-it was because she worked from the heart.
The most important thing about Rose is that she built relationships with everyone within and outside of her family. She was the kind of person who connected with everyone and took the time to get to know you. Everyone knew that if you needed anything, to go see Rose, if she couldn’t help you herself, she would find a way to get you the help you needed. There are countless examples of Rose’s kindness and generosity. We hope that you will treasure those moments as much as we will. Our family will get through this because she was the best example of strength and resilience.
Rose was a single parent who raised her four girls the best way she knew how; she worked hard to get her BSW then her Masters and never looked back. When she lost her daughter and nephew in a car accident, she was knocked off her game for awhile but in true Rose-style, she came back stronger and harder at life. She worked tirelessly to make changes for her family so that they would never want for anything and that they were safe and secure.
