Ron was born in Ogema, Saskatchewan in 1918. He left the family farm in 1941 to join the Air Force and discover the world. After marriage to Kay in 1946, he completed his engineering degree at Queens and together they created a life in Waterloo. Ron and Kay were very involved in the First United Church community. Ron was a man of action, who loved to play badminton, tennis, waterski, golf and hike. He could fix almost anything and was happiest when he was able to help others. In September, Ron celebrated his 99th birthday with family and friends.
