Obituary of Ronald Wray
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Lee Manor in Owen Sound, on Sunday morning, December 17th, 2017. Ronald William Wray, of Owen Sound, at the age of 80 years. Ron fought numerous health setbacks over the course of the last 2 decades and did so with a sense of humour and a positive attitude. Dearly beloved husband of Earlene Wray (nee Farley) for 57 years. Devoted father of Rob Wray (Patti), Mary Jo Wray (James) and Pamela Wray (Garry). Ron was exceptionally proud of his grandchildren, Justine (Steve), Kelly (Brendan), Scott (Caitlin), Conor, Madison, Nathan and his great-grandchildren, William Alina, Clara, Ian and Fiadh. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John and Ellen Wray; his twin brother, John Wray; his sister, Joyce Parkes. Ron worked at CFOS for over 40 years and has left a trail of life-long friends from his numerous interests, clubs and activities (where he was known as “Buck”) and dabbled with photo shop to create “Buck’s Photos”. A special thanks to all the Health Care Team members throughout the years at GBHS, Vital Air, Red Cross, Care Partners, VON and Lee Manor.
As per Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Ron’s favourite holiday was Christmas and to honour him the family would appreciate donations to the Festival of Northern Lights as an expression of sympathy and may be made through the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492). Messages of condolence may be sent to the family on-line at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
