Obituary for Ronald “Rick” Fredrick Taylor
TAYLOR, Ronald Fredrick “Rick” – Surrounded by his children, Rick passed away, peacefully, at the Welland Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the age of 72. Devoted father of David Taylor (Gillian), Randy Taylor, Dustin Taylor (Jenell) and Alana Kohut (Matthew). Proud and loving grandfather of Ashley (Kevin), Amber (Jeff Fitzpatrick), Jessica (Fabian Korczynski), Liam, Benjamin, Grace, Brianna, Emily, Keenan, Sadie, Austin and Callum. Dear brother of Betty, Georgina (Wayne), Dennis (Idalmis), Val (Freddie), George (Rita), Peggy (Andrew), Nancy and brother-in-law of John Wilson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ronald and Irene Taylor and sisters Debbie and Lexie.
Rick was employed at Atlas Steel from 1977 until its closure in 2004. He enjoyed woodworking, home renovations and reading. His passion was travelling and he enjoyed many memorable trips to Cuba. Above all, he loved his family and was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many and his legacy will live on for years to come.
The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Monday, October 23rd from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A service to celebrate Rick’s life will follow in the Cudney Chapel beginning at 1 p.m. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
