Ronald Francis Stringer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Francis Stringer on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Invermere and District Hospital at 71 years of age.
Ron was born in Red Deer, Alberta on June 26, 1945. He moved to the Columbia Valley in 1975, where he stayed for his remaining years and raised his sons Dwayne and Darryl Stringer.
Ron was well known throughout the Valley as the Superior Propane truck driver. “The Silver Fox.” Ron worked as a truck driver for 35 years and retired in 2011.
Ron enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He was a compassionate man who touched the hearts of all he knew. Ron loved to laugh and mostly enjoyed a good joke.
Ron was predeceased by his father Wesley Stringer, his brother Bill Stringer and his brother-in-law Don Cotterhill.
Ron is survived by his wife Janice, his sons Dwayne (Julie) and Darryl (Sara), his mother Agnes, his sisters Norma (Leo) and Wendy (Neil), his son-in-law Martin (Kathy), his daughters-in-law LeeAnne (Greg) and Shelly (Byron) and many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Copper Point Resort at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Parkinson’s Association.
