Obituary for Ronald Cope
COPE, Ronald – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the age of 80. Beloved Husband of Mary (nee Sips) for 58 years. Cherished Father of Ronald Jr., Lori (Blair), William and Amber (Luc). Proud and loving Papa to Misty, Ashley, Dessarée, William Jr., Hillary, Kurtis, Jeffrey and Great-grandpapa to Lauren, Morgan, Sierra, Trisha, Jimmy and Paisen. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Florence Cope and his brothers and sisters.
Ronald retired from Weston’s Bakery as a Shipper/Receiver and later from Laidlaw/First Student as a Bus Driver. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed golfing and camping. He was a member of the former Indian Head Lodge where he ran the Euchre league. But above all else Ronald treasured the time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, December 8th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A service to celebrate Ronald’s life will follow in the Cudney Chapel beginning at 1 p.m.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Juravinski Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences available at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com
