1934-2017
Armstrong, Ronald H. – It is with deep sadness that our family
announces the passing of Ron on Saturday November 11th, 2017 in his
84th year. Left to cherish Ron’s memory is his loving wife
Loraine, children Steve and Diane, James and Rita, Cathy and Mark
Patterson. Loving Grandpa to Evan and McKensi, Katy and Liam, Jessica
and Trevor, Megan and Matt, Gordon, Gina. He was a very special loving
Great ‘Grandpa Ron” to Roselyn, Autumn and Rory.
Predeceased by his father Russell Armstrong, his mother May Armstrong
Weekes and stepfather John Weekes. He leaves behind sisters Shirley,
Marlene and brother Geoff. As well as extended family members and
close friends. Ron was honoured with a distinguished lifetime
membership at Smuggler’s Cove Boat Club in NOTL. His love of
sailing was paramount as he participated in weekly club races and
regattas. Along with yearly cruises to the Thousand Islands with his
first mate, Loraine on their boat “Loron”. In his 28 years
of retirement from General Motors as an electrician, Ron and Loraine
enjoyed those years wintering at their South Texas home. The family
expresses special thanks to Dr. T. Prince, Dr. E. Rabin, Dr. S. Y. Kim
as well as the wonderful caring nurses in Dialysis Unit and CCU.
Visitation will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court
Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday, November 17, 2017
from 10 am until the time of the Celebration of Life at 11am.
Memorial donations to Kidney Care Program at Niagara Health in care of
One Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
