Rolf Ratte – 1932 – 2017

Obituary of Rolf Ratte
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a deeply loved husband, an exceptional father and the very best Opa at the age of 84 on July 25, 2017. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years Waltraud, his son Bernd (Shelley) and his beloved grandchildren Gregory (Becky), Stephanie and Nicholas.
Predeceased by brother Juergen, survived by brother in law Heinz (Gisela), sister-in-law Erika (Gerd) and sister-in-law Ilse (Jörg) and niece and nephews in Germany.
Rolf fought a longstanding heart condition with perseverance, courage and determination. He won many battles, giving us precious time and memories with him, but in the end, he couldn’t win the fight. But that heart beat every second with love and good wishes for his family, friends and mankind as demonstrated through all his actions. In accordance with his wishes he has been cremated. Family will receive friends in a celebration of Rolf’s life at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. There will be no funeral service.
As a dedicated participant and advocate of Hardy Hearts (Waterloo Regional Cardiac Rehabilitation Foundation Inc.), donations to this cause would be greatly appreciated. Donations and condolences for the family may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
