Obituary for Rodolfo Buela
Rodolfo (Rudy) Gaa Buela
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rodolfo, fondly known to everyone as Rudy, peacefully passed away on August 26, 2017 surrounded by his devoted children. Rudy was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosario, on November 2016. He leaves behind his five children, Randolph, Raymond (Michelle), Roselle (Russell), Rochelle, Ryan (Chris) as well as six grandchildren Rachel, Malea, Rhys, Thomas, Kiera, Ryerson and his favourite four legged friend Daisy. Born in the Philippines on January 27, 1945 he brought his wife and five children to Canada in 1976; first living in Winnipeg and then settling in Calgary in 1978. He worked hard, sometimes taking on multiple jobs to provide for his family during the early years. As a Draftsman he had a true passion for architecture and construction. He was the true ‘Do It Yourself” man, designing and building anything from furniture to fences or customizing the family Ford Econoline van. There was no project he wasn’t willing to tackle with the highest level of detail. Rudy truly loved camping, fishing, photography and especially the open road. He was always keen on the adventure a long family road trip would bring. He is now in eternal peace with his beloved Rosario and our Lord by his side. We will all dearly miss our Dad, Lolo and Friend.
The family wish to extend their deepest gratitude to the Hemodialysis unit nurses and patients at the Peter Lougheed Centre for their many years of care and friendship. A great deal of thanks also goes to the kindest team of nurses and doctors at both the Peter Lougheed and Foothills Medical Centre’s ICU units. Your extraordinary care and compassion during our father’s final days will always be remembered by his children.
