Avis, Rodney passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 26, 2017 at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, Owen Sound in his 95th year. Rod was the long-time owner of Avis Jewelers in Port Elgin until he retired in 1983. Rod was a proud veteran of WWII. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Dollar, and loving father of Paula (Paul) McCullough of Kitchener. Grandpa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Cameron (Grace) McCullough and Heather (Kirk) McCullough, and by his great grandchildren Adriana, Vanessa, and Brayden. A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Rod Avis will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Port Elgin on Thursday December 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. A time of fellowship and sharing will follow at the church. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton.
