Obituary of Robin Mars
MARS, Robin Ann (nee Richmond)
1943 – 2017
After a brave fight with cancer, Robin passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, October 23rd, 2017. Robin is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 51 years, Patrick Mars. Robin grew up in Montreal where she met Patrick and they moved to Toronto in the early 1970’s. She will be greatly missed by her children, Anthea (Mike Turner) of London, England and Euan (Anne Wellnhofer) of Toronto and her cherished “divines” – Griffin, Beckett, Henry, Poppy and Annika. They will continue to sing Land of the Silver Birch with “GG” in their hearts. Robin is also survived by her father, Dick Richmond of Toronto, and her brother, George Richmond (Heather) of Fredericton, NB.
Robin devoted herself to helping many women in Toronto and London, England overcome their struggles with alcohol. In recognition of her efforts and dedication, and in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Renascent Foundation, renascent.ca/
A special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the palliative care units at Princess Margaret Hospital and West Parry Sound Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in ST PAUL’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 277 Bloor Street East, on Monday, October 30th at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
