Obituary of Robert Parker
Robert Lance Parker
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Lance Parker, age 73 at home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Bob, as he was known to friends and family, was born April 27, 1944, in Kitchener, ON to Robert and Marie Parker. He graduated from Sheldon Collegiate in Regina and then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as an Air Traffic Controller in Bagotville, QC. He returned to Saskatchewan and lived in Regina, where he partnered with his father in their business, Wascana Office Supplies. He moved between Regina and Edmonton through the years but settled back in Regina. He had three children, Robert, Michelle, and Amy. In 1987, he met the love of his life, Donna Weaver. They moved to Victoria, BC in 1989 to be closer to his parents, where he eventually joined the Commissionaires. In 2007, Bob and Donna moved back to Saskatchewan, this time in Saskatoon, where Bob continued with the Commissionaires at SIAST. They later moved to Regina in 2014 to be closer to their youngest grandchildren. He worked security at the RCMP Depot, where he enjoyed getting to know the cadets and his fellow co-workers. He loved touring on his Harley-Davidson and the friendships he made at the HOG Chapters in Saskatoon and Regina. He also enjoyed travelling with Donna and they made several trips to the Caribbean and many states, including visiting his daughter Amy, Cal and his grandson Colten. He had a great passion for cooking, and he will best be remembered for his famous prime rib. He will be remembered and missed by his wife, Donna Weaver; his children, Robert (Alana) Parker, Moose Jaw; Michelle (Bob) Simmons, Edmonton; and Amy (Cal) Rainwater, Phoenix, Arizona; his step-sons Scott (Leanne) Weaver, Regina; and David (Kelli) Weaver, Victoria and his seven grandchildren; his sister Kathy (Larry) Phillips; his Uncle Alvin; his special Aunts Flo and Betty; sister-in-law Wendy (Brent) Wignes; brother-in-law Darryl Bregg; and many nieces and nephews. A kind thank you to the members of Emergency Medical Services at Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. In honour of his wishes, there will not be a funeral but donations can be made in his memory to the Canadian Diabetic Association and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
