LAWSON: Robert Elmer (Rob)
Robert (Rob) Elmer Lawson, born in Orillia on September 27, 1950, passed away on Thursday December 14th, 2017 at Rama Extended Care Unit with those he loved nearby.
Life partner, best friend, and travel companion to wife Sherry Lynn Lawson (nee Douglas). Son of Elmer and the late Doreen Lawson. Loving father of Kendra (Ed) and Jordan (Shannon). Beloved Gampa to Paxton, Harper, Feather and Fenox.
Extra special friend to Heidi. Fondly remembered by in-laws and friends Mark and Christine Douglas. Brother-in-law to Sharla (Stan) Peltier and Sharon Barkley. Never forgotten by special nephew Matthew (Kailey) Douglas. Dear uncle to many young people. Friend to so many, including those in the trades and new friends in his winter home of Punta Gorda, Florida.
Pragmatic to the end, upon learning of his illness, funeral arrangements were made and Robert’s obituary was written. Visitation at the Chippewas of Rama Community Hall on Monday December 18th from 9:00AM to time of service at 10:30AM. Interment Rama Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Sheppard and the staff at Rama’s ECU for their exceptional care and kindness. Rob always considered funeral flowers to be somewhat frivolous. Instead, donations to the charity of your choice would be helpful to the community and appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Simcoe Funeral Home, Orillia.
