THOMPSON, ROBERT J. ‘BOB’ Founder of Bob Thompson Jewellers
Peacefully in hospital, surrounded by family on Sunday September 10, 2017, Bob Thompson at the age of 81. He leaves his wife Margaret (Herbert), of 60 years, his children, Gregory (Christine), Jeffrey (June) and Derrick (Kelli). Predeceased by infant daughter Elizabeth. Loved by 6 grandchildren, Jason, Jenna, Amanda, Ashley, Jordan, Morgan and 1 great-grandchild, Keenan. Brother to Aletha (late Keith Beetham, late Albert Carroll), Leonard (late Madeline), Gerald (Muriel), Delbert (Patricia) and the late Gilbert (late Eleanor), Vincent (late Viola), Bonnie (late Eric Moore), Peggy (Bill Brady), Clayton, Ken (Teresa), Edward, Betty (Michael Daley) and Donald (late Barbara). Founder of Bob Thompson Jewellers, he belonged to many fiddle and dance clubs around the Ottawa area. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, (6971 Bank Street between Scrivens Drive and Metcalfe Corner) from 6-9 pm on Friday. Funeral Saturday to Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 5338 Bank St. for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, 1500 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 3Y9 would be appreciated.
