Obituary for Robert Goobie
Goobie – Robert (Joseph): May 20, 1936 – Nov. 24, 2017.
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at The Health Science Centre, Robert Joseph Goobie in his 81st year.
Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Florence Goobie (nee Tobin), brother Graham, sister in law Elizabeth Goobie, brother in law Bernie Walsh and deceased members of the Goobie, Tobin and Crawley families.
Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 53 years, Rose Goobie (Crawley) two sons: Bob (Giselle), Nova Scotia and Gary. His loving daughter Andrea (Dee Jones), Georgia USA. His loving granddaughter Jenna Goobie, (Nova Scotia) whom he adored. His step grandchildren and his step great-grandson in Georgia, USA.
His brothers, Gordon (Mississauga, Ont.), Edward (Shirley) and David of St. John’s. His sister, Jeannette Janes (Wade), Paradise; His brothers and sisters in law, Patrick Crawley (Shelia); Gerald Crawley (Joan); Gordon Crawley (Helen); Sharon Walsh. Special family friends Karen Dahle and Dorothy Purcell and his best buddy Maggie. Also, a large circle of relatives and close friends.
Resting at Hickey’s Funeral Home, Holyrood.
Visitation on Sunday and Monday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday Nov. 28, 2017 at 10:30 am from Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Hr. Main.
At Bob’s request, cremation to take place with inurnment at a later date.
