It is with broken hearts that we wish to announce the peaceful passing of Bob on November 10, 2017, at the age of 74, while surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of Carol (nee Barron) for 50 years. Adored father of Jennifer Minovski and husband George, Rob and wife Katie. Cherished Papa of Ella, Kora and Finn. Dear eldest brother of Brian (Janice), Bill (Mary), Danny (Kathy), Patrick (Karen), Tim, Jerry (Nancy) and predeceased by Sharon. Best friend of Carl and Betty Durham. Bob will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, cousins and his three godsons; Keith Mastromatteo, Matthew Ferguson and Owen Wolters. Bob retired after 30 years of service for Ford Motor Company International Distribution Operations. He was an avid sailor who was a founding member and past Commodore of LaSalle Mariner’s Yacht Club. He was able to sail his beloved boat “Gringo” for over 45 years. Bob was an aviation buff who enjoyed many rides on vintage aircraft. Also, Bob helped to establish The Amherstburg Provincial Marine Re-enactment Unit, in which he participated in many community historical events. His winters were spent in Florida, where he enjoyed sitting on the pier, watching the many boats come in from the ocean. He had a calm and easygoing demeanor which was admired by everyone he met. He also possessed a mischievous sense of humour which has been passed on to his grandchildren.
Bob had many knowledgeable and compassionate caregivers, special gratitude goes to Dr. Schneider, Dr. Loo, Dr. McNeill and all of the caring staff from the Hospice of Windsor and Amy’s Helping Hands.
