Rita Marie Tangney (nee Hale), of Mount Forest, passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Tangney (2005). Loved mother of Jim Tangney and his wife Patricia of Guelph, Tom Tangney and his wife Margaret Mary of Mount Forest, Alan Tangney and his wife Penny of Kitchener, Kevin Tangney and his wife Sharon of Fergus, Cheryl Allen and her husband Wayne of Mount Forest, Steve Tangney and his wife Angela of Waterloo, Mary Beth Heffernan and her husband Pat of Elora, Christine Rita Tangney of Mount Forest and Carolyn Henderson and her husband Paul of Hamilton. Loved grandmother of 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Edward Hale, Tom and Cecile Hale and sister-in-law Jean Hale, Irene Tangney and Nellie Tangney. Predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jane Tangney (1965), and by her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Leonard and Anna Hale, Gerald and Mary Hale, Eileen Hale, Louie Hale, James Hale, Helen and Charlie Dadswell, Mary and Rene Lord, Pete and Eileen Schmidt, Joe and Genevieve Bolen, Austin and Clara Tangney, Ambrose Tangney, John Tangney. Rita will also be sadly missed by her many nephews and nieces and friends. Rita was a member of the CWL for over 60 years and a member of Auxiliary at the Louise Marshall Hospital. Friends may call at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Thursday, December 28th, from 1– 4 and 6:30 – 9 p.m., where a vigil prayer service will be held at 6:15 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, 230 Queen Street East, Mount Forest on Friday, December 29th, at 11:30 a.m. with visitation prior to the service from 9:30 until 11:15 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
