Obituary of Richard Doherty
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend on November 22, 2017 at the age of 62 years. Beloved husband of Valerie Bellemore of 38 years. Cherished and loving father of Lynn Sleeth (Tom), and the late J. J. Bellemore (1984). Reunited with parents Keith (2014) and Dolores (2009) Doherty. Loving brother to Linda Sinasac (Calvin), Michael, Pamela Banks (Bill 2016), Allan (Judy), and Cheryl. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, in laws, extended family, and friends,
Rick was a lover of life. He lived life to the fullest, his way and by his rules. His infectious smile and genuine personality touched many. He was a big teddy bear with a gentle, kind loving soul whose heart of gold was like no other. He was a dedicated truck driver for over 30 years. He loved the Maple Leafs and Nascar, Jimmy Johnson #48. He had a passion and love for horses and was most proud of his daughters training and show career, championships and accomplishments. The love and devotion he had for his family was paramount to everything else. A special thank you to all of the first responders and coworkers that came to Rick’s aid. Our sincerest thanks to the incredible medical staff at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus and Ouellette Campus for your focused efforts, care, and compassion. We know in our hearts he received the best care possible. All of your efforts allowed us the opportunity to say good bye to a very special husband and father. Rick’s request was that cremation take place and to remember him for the life he lived.
