Obituary of Richard Roy
In hospital, Hull, Quebec on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the age of 68 years, Richard Roy, beloved husband of Shirley Devine. Loving father of Erin (Sara) and Megan (Sean). Doting Grandpa of Xavier Ducharme and Layla, Leah and James Tanner. Dear brother of Karen (late Wes Cartman), Laurie (Jim Beer), Loretta (Don Goyette) and Janie (Robert Walls). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father “Duke” Raymond Roy and mother Gloria Henderson, as well as grandson Alexander Tanner. Richard enjoyed working on his antique tractor and gas engines and was a member of the local Antique Club. He especially enjoyed working on the loader at Lamarche-McGuinty (Hilton Mine). He will be missed and remembered by many. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Hull hospital ICU department for their dedication in providing caring and compassion towards Richard in his final weeks, as well as to his family. Funeral Service will be held in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Shawville, Quebec on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
