VAUGHAN, Richard Lee Sr. “Rick”
Age 62, of Windsor, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at home. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of Shirley (Vaughan) Skipper, Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth.
Rick was a former member of the Windsor Fire Department and was a former member of Hants County Branch No. 009, Windsor and current member of Calais Branch No. 162, Lower Sackville of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved hunting, singing, dancing, his cat “Charlie” and his old car, his 1984 Camaro. Rick especially loved playing with his grandchildren, even when they would paint his nails. He will be sadly missed by all.
Besides his mother, Rick is survived by his loving wife, the former Connie Reese; sons, James (Brandi), Mt. Denson; Richard Jr. (Natasha), Mill Section; daughter, Leora (Steven) Lydiard, Martock; sister, Elizabeth (William) Leeman, Morinville, Alberta; grandchildren, Ethan, Paige, Koda, Cabe, Myla, Sierra, Zola and Rayla; nieces, Tamara and Angela; nephews, Nicholas, Timothy and Christopher.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS BON 2TO (902-798-8317). No visitation by request. A funeral service celebrating Rick’s life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in memory of Rick may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Hants County SPCA.
