MacLaren, Richard John “Rick” – age 68 of Dartmouth passed away suddenly on Sunday January 8, 2017 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late Vivian Welburn. Before retiring Rick worked for Phillips Cables and Moirs. Rick enjoyed his mornings at the gym, his Moosehead Games, spending time with his beach friends and travelling with his wife. He dearly loved his daughter Jill and was so proud of her. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Darlene (Perry); daughter, Jill Chorney (Daniel), Halifax; brother, Len MacLaren, Calgary; the large extended Perry Family and the Burt Family of P.E.I. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm Wednesday, January 11 with a Memorial Service 1pm Thursday, January 12 followed by a reception all in Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
