Peacefully at Streamway Villa Nursing Home on Thursday, December 8th , 2016 in his 91st year. David was born in Toronto and raised in Peterborough. He was ordained in the United Church of Canada in 1956 and married to the love of his life Patricia Potter (nee Birchard) the same year. David was the beloved father of Jane Smith (Gary), Judith Murray (Wayne), Alan Potter (Beverley), James Potter (Jacquie) and Douglas Potter (Patricia). Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. David is predeceased by his brothers Victor, Edward, and his nephew Steve. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Saturday, January 21st from 1:30 – 2:30 pm., followed by a memorial service at 2:30. If desired, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Streamway Villa Residents Fund, Port Hope United Church or charity of choice. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
