Obituary of Ray Poirier
POIRIER- Ray of Port Colborne passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of the late Nicole Poirier, loving father of Michelle (Tony) Mancini and Brad (Donna) Poirier, dear grandfather of Jonathan Mancini and Matthew Mancini, Destiny (Rob) Sawatzky, Serenity Poirier, Hope Poirier and Jewel Poirier, great grandfather of Elliawna and Izek, brother of Josie Gagnon, Dorothy Nagy, Leo Poirier and John (Lori) Poirier and sadly missed by Dianne Poirier. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Ray was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Helen Poirier, his sister Irene Guitar. Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia and has lived in this area most of his life. Ray had worked at Hayes Dana in Thorold for many years from where he retired. He enjoyed, fishing, playing cards, golfing and telling jokes. He will be sadly missed by many of his friends. Cremation has taken place. Ray’s family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the Davidson Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ian MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
