The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on
Monday, July 10, 2017, with his loving family by his side, of Raymond
Joseph McHugh, of Sea Cow Pond, age 86 years. Beloved husband of
Margaret Mary (nee Morrissey) McHugh. Born October 22, 1930, he was
the son of the late Reginald and Mary Catherine (nee
McGrath) McHugh.
Dear father of Robert (Janice), of Sea Cow Pond, John
(JoAnne), of Sea Cow Pond, JoAnne (Al) McHugh, Debby Thomas, of
Charlottetown, Joey, of Sea Cow Pond, and Wayne, of Sea Cow Pond.
Dear grandfather of Holly (Donald) Matthews, Allen, Jamie,
and Samantha McHugh, Christine Thomas, Kelby, and Miranda McHugh (Glen
Clow). Great-grandfather to Nigel, Sarah, Morgan and Casey. Dear
brother to Wilma (Clarence) Griffin, of Brockton, and Alred (Sylvia),
of Toronto. He is also survived by many nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Hackett, and by brothers
Kenneth, John Elmore, and Robert Joseph.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton.
Visiting hours Wednesday, July 12, 2017, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Thursday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish,
for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendan Gallant, Celebrant.
Interment in the church cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Western
Hospital Equipment Fund or to the IWK Children’s Hospital would be
gratefully appreciated.
