Raymond George Somers 1945-2017
Raymond George Somers common law spouse of Grace McKay, of Eel Ground, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday December 22, 2017 at the age of 72. Born in Sillikers, NB, he was the son of the late Gerald and Daisy (Tozer) Somers. Ray was Baptist by faith. He was a retired employee with the former Repap mill. Ray is survived by his common law spouse Grace, two sons: Kirk Somers of Trout Brook, NB and Dewey Somers (Connie) of Miramichi, NB; three sisters: Mona Murdock (John) of Napan, NB, Janet Johnson (John) of Maine, USA and Sherry Waye (Dana) of Trout Brook, NB; six brothers Bobby Somers (Wanda) of St. Catherines, ON, Yerxa Somers (Paula) of Miramichi, NB, Jerry Somers (Beatrice) of Miramichi, NB, Wayne Somers (Doreen) of South Esk, NB, Rickey Somers (Adrienne) of Miramichi, NB and Dean Somers (Debbie) of Quebec; one granddaughter Hannah Somers of Miramichi, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ray is predeceased by his parents as well as his brother Elisha. Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.Funeral Service will be at Victory Baptist Fellowship, South Esk, NB on Thursday December 28, 2017 at 11 AM conducted by Pastor Vincent Somers. Burial will be in the Lyttleton Baptist Cemetery, Back Road, NB later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, in Ray’s memory donations may be made to the Arthritis Society (NB).
