Obituary for Ragna Graupe
Ragna Graupe (nee Lenes)
March 23, 1918 – June 15, 2017
It is with sadness yet rejoicing that the family announces the passing of Regna Graupe, late of Hagen, SK on June 15, 2017 at Birchview Long Term Care Home at the age of 99 years. Left to cherish her memory are: her daughter: Elaine Myers; and sons: Carl (Cornelia) and Loren (Shirley); her twin sisters: Mildred Grant and Ruth (Lorris) Myhr; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mom was born on March 23, 1918 in Folldol, Norway. She and her parents: Martin and Ragnild; sister: Ingebor; brother: Oscar and twin brother Edmund, immigrated to Canada in the late 1920’s settling in Deer Ridge, SK. Ragna married Sigmund Graupe in 1941 in Bethania Lutheran Church near Hagen after having met at Kinasao Bible Camp at Christopher Lake. They were farmers until Dad’s health no longer enabled them to continue and he passed away in 1974 at the age of 56 years. Ragna and her son Dwight then moved to Prince Albert where after a time she began a very rewarding career in home care. With the passing of time came health problems and worsening eye sight, thus the decision was made to move to the Nelson Care Home, then the Weldon Country Villa and finally to Birchview Long Term Care Home in Birch Hills, SK. Ragna was predeceased by her husband: Sigmund; her son: Dwight; her son in-law: Wayne Myers; her brothers: Edmund and Oscar; her sister: Ingeborg Nyberg; and her brother in-law: Bill Grant. A Private Family Service will be held at Saron Lutheran Church on June 24, 2017. Blessed be her memory.
