Suddenly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, New
Brunswick on Monday, December 12, 2016, of Raeburn Earl Matthews, of
Northport, PE, aged 72 years. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy
Jennie (nee Brown) Matthews. Born at Summerside on August 10,
1944, he was the son of the late Merrill C. and Pearl A. (nee
Metherall) Matthews.
Lovingly remembered by his children: Troy Matthews of
Northport, Pam (John) Matthews-Murphy of Bolton, Ont., Todd Matthews
of Northport, Beverley Matthews-Yorke of Summerside, Barbara (Steve)
Matthews-Basso of Charlottetown, and Amy Matthews of
Northport. Cherished grandfather to Samantha Basso, Emily
Matthews, Thomas Basso, and Olivia Yorke.
He is also survived by sisters, Daisy Matthews of Ontario,
and Arlene (Bill) Longridge of Alberta.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel,
Alberton. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral Saturday from
the Gordon Memorial United Church at a time be to announced, Rev. Lynn
McKinnon officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery,
Alberton.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Dialysis Unit
of the Western Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.
