Presley Moore Ellis
September 5, 1927 – April 16, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Presley Ellis announce his passing at the age of 89 years.
Left to mourn his loss is his wife and life partner Leona Ellis; son Aubrey (Sharon) Ellis of Cranbrook, B.C., daughter Diane Mulligan of Edson, AB., grandchildren Chelsea Ellis of Oceano, California USA, Amy Ellis of Edmonton, AB, Tara Ellis of Calgary, AB; Curtis (Kylie) Mulligan of Edson, AB, Janelle Mulligan of Calgary, AB and great grandchildren Mercedes and Paislee. His sisters Peggy (Herb) Betker and family; Lois (Frank) Powell and family; Monica Ellis and family; and Dolores Ellis and family. Also left to mourn are special friends Wally and Joan Yanda as well as numerous friends and family.
Presley was predeceased by his parents Earl and Beatrice Ellis. His brothers Lee and Garth Ellis and his grandson Lance Mulligan.
Presley was born at home on the farm south of Melaval, Sask., which he took pride in working on until he moved to Alberta. In 1944 he moved to Edmonton, where he met his wife Leona and later started his family. In 1961 they settled in the Killarney area. During his lifetime, he dedicated 55 years to Killarney Community League and he also volunteered for many organizations, for which he was recognized and received two Volunteer of the Year awards. For many years he enjoyed being a coach and a referee for Little League Baseball. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and dance events for which he was their biggest fan. In his later years he and Leona enjoyed travelling on bus tours throughout the USA, Eastern Canada and Europe. He also enjoyed regularly meeting up with the “coffee club” members.
His family is very thankful for every moment they had with him throughout the years and have many wonderful memories to cherish.
