Suddenly at Joseph Brant Hosptal with his family by his side on Saturday December 10, 2016. Pieter, 73 years, beloved husband of Gail (nee Sowley) for over 43 years. Dear father of Donna Vandermeulen and Emily Vandermeulen. Loved brother of Betty Westra (George), Hank van der Meulen (Rinie), Patty Faber (Jan). and uncle of many nieces and nephews. Pieter is loved and will be missed by both the Sowley and van der Meulen extended families.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Pieter’s life at DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 2241 New St. (at Drury Lane) on Saturday December 17, 2016, between 1-3 pm. Words of remembrance will be said at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation, or CNIB.
