Obituary of Phyllis Thompson
THOMPSON, Phyllis M. age 86, of Elmsdale, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the Magnolia Continuing Care facility, with her family by her side.
Born in 1931 in Mill Village, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late James and Cora (Vaughan) Brown.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lachlan; daughter, Cora Forbes; brothers, Art, Acil, Jimmy, Avery and sister, Shirley.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Leon (Annette), Elmsdale; Archie (Liz), Clarenville, NL; and daughter, Colleen (Steve) Edgett, Lantz; 10 grandchildren, Luke, Brittany, Jessica, Robyn, Sara, Lauren, Roger, Nicole, Angela and Lachlan. She is also survived by her sister, Cora Etter, Halifax.
Phyllis worked as a pharmacist for many years at drugstores in Truro, Shubenacadie, Elmsdale and Dartmouth. She had a passion for photography, loved late nights watching hockey, and always enjoyed the chance to sleep in. Her quick wit will be remembered for years to come.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home.
Visitation 2-4, Sunday, Nov. 5 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral service 11am, Monday, November 6 in Riverview United Church, Elmsdale, Rev. Catherine MacDonald officiating. Reception following the service. Interment in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Magnolia for the respect and care they provided.
