Phyllis Mae Cryderman (nee Haver) - September 16

Phyllis Mae Cryderman (nee Haver) – September 16, 1928 – February 7, 2017

Phyllis, beloved wife of Jack, passed away on February 7, 2017 with her loving family. She had a wonderful life touched many with her love. She had the amazing gift of making everyone feel special.
Born in 1928 in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan Phyllis grew up in Saskatoon. She was the fifth of seven children in the warm and loving family of the late Bernice (Waters) and Malcolm Haver. She has been predeceased by her husband Jack and eldest son John, and all of her siblings, Jack, Beryl… (Walper), Cecil, Leone (Phipps), Joyce (Fossum) and Bob.
In 1952, Phyllis and Jack began their life together living on well sites in southern Saskatchewan finally settling in Regina. Their five children and their partners; Diane (Jim Pomeroy), John, Bill (Anne Campbell), Jeff (Arlene Dicey) and Nancy (Graham Ferguson) were blessed with great parents and a special bond that has never failed them.
Career moves relocated the family, after sixteen years in Regina, to Calgary. Retirement moved them to Vancouver Island and finally back to Okotoks, Alberta. Phyllis planted deep roots and created a warm and happy home forming many wonderful friendships along the way. She watched her family grow and she will be greatly missed by two daughters: Diane (Jim Pomeroy), Nancy (Graham Ferguson); two sons: William (Anne Campbell), Jeffrey (Arlene Dicey); Grandchildren Jaclyn Madarasz (Chris Merten), Nicole (Andrew Murray), Kathryn and Michael (Pomeroy), Russell and Phillip, Michael (Danielle), Daniel (Robyn), David (Vicki) and Jayme (Andy Middleton), Claire (Joseph Craven), Grace and Jack (Ferguson); Great Grandchildren Adam and Eden Madarasz and Drew, Dylan and Jordyn Murray; and many nieces and nephews. The death of son John in 2004 and husband Jack in 2014 were her greatest sorrows.
Phyllis enjoyed traveling, bridge, music, art and the company of good friends. She was an avid reader and lazy boater. Her travels were extensive and, alone or with Jack, she visited many countries of the world. Her journeys with family and friends spanned the globe and she reveled in experiencing new places and making new friends. In their retirement years they traveled closer to their west coast home, taking every opportunity to be out on their boat (4-5 months a year).
Phyllis was daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, homemaker, travel consultant and family matriarch. Spending time with her family ranked highest on her list. Phyllis will be remembered for her good heart, friendly personality, quick smile and passion for living.
Phyllis was dedicated to the family she loved; she has been a strength, light and inspiration. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
A private celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
