Phyllis DeMerchant
1925-2017
Phyllis DeMerchant of Saint John, NB, formerly of Carlingford, NB
passed away peacefully at Shannex Parkland, Tucker Hall, on November
10, 2017.
Phyllis was born on May 13, 1925, in Fort Fairfield, ME. She was the
daughter of the late Harry and Amanda (Brown) Burns. Phyllis leaves
behind her daughters, Linda DeMerchant of Saint John, NB, Hope
McKenzie (Brian) of Saint John, NB; her sons, Kevin DeMerchant (Betty)
of Miramichi, NB, Peter DeMerchant (Phyllis) of Methuen, MA; her
sister, Arline Oakes of Weston, FL; six grandchildren, four great
grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gerald
DeMerchant; sisters, Christine Campbell and Eliza Bamford; brothers,
John Burns and Harry Burns Jr.
A graveside service celebrating Phyllis’ life will be held on
Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1 pm from the Larlee Creek Cemetery.
