Phyllis Brown May 31, 1930 – January 31, 2017

Phyllis Margaret Brown age 86 of Amherst passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Gables Lodge in Amherst.
Born May 31, 1930 in Minudie, NS, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen “Kate” (Symes) Brown.
She spend 22 years working for Hermie and Jessie Landry in the motel industry as well as the school of the deaf for over 14 years retiring in 1990.
Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Grace (Wyman) Cove, Amherst, Thelma (Roger) McIver, River Hebert; brothers, Douglas (Pauline) Tyndal Rd, Henry, Bayfield, NB and Clayton (Jeannie), Amherst; her children whom she held close to her heart, Carol MacFarland, New York, USA and Wayne Beharrell, Amherst Head; as well as many nieces, nephews, and her extended Gables family where she received exceptional care and shared many smiles and laughter.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her sisters, Aldana Chapman, Mary Hall and Joyce Brown in infancy; brother, Wilfred (Bill).
A public graveside service will be held at a later date in the Minudie Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in Phyllis’s memory may be made to the IWK or the Alzheimer’s Society.
Arrangements are under the care of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (902) 667-9906.
