HELMS, Philip Roderick, of Dartmouth died at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial on April 19, 2017. Born in Halifax, in 1922, in The Shaughnessy Private Hospital on Gottingen Street, he was the son of John Chisholm Helms and Nora Kathleen (Smith). Philip was a veteran of WWII. He joined The Canadian Ordnance in 1942 and served with them in the UK, Normandy, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. Returning to Canada in 1946, he went back to work with the shipping agency he had been employed with prior to the war.
