Pearl passed on the evening of January 24, 2017 after a prolonged hospital stay and struggle for the past few months. She is now at peace and at rest.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62+ years just six months earlier, Sydney (Syd) Phillips.
She is survived by her adoring children Janice Phillips of Edmonton, and Gregory (Greg) Phillips (h. William (Matt) Pettigrew) of West Vancouver, BC. She is also survived by her sister Lee Rombough (h. Larry) of Red Deer, Alberta and by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and by Janice’s loving dog Kaydee who adored her.
A first generation Albertan, Pearl was born and grew up on a farmstead east of Edmonton (near Wasel) with her sister Lee and brothers Mike, George, William (Bill), Ivan and Nick who predeceased her (as well as her other infant sister Vaselena). Pearl was a teacher, a loving and generous wife and mother, and worked in clerical positions and loved her home, her garden and her children.
She will be remembered as a vibrant, strong, determined and caring woman and mother who would do anything and everything for you.
A private small family service will be held in March 2017 and she will be buried next to her loving husband Syd at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Thank you to the staff of Touchmark at Wedgewood (Edmonton) where she lived the past five plus years with Syd, and the past six months on her own.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Pearl Phillips
