Patricia “Maggie” Brown
1948-2017
At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Sunday
January 15, 2017, Patricia “Maggie” Brown of St.
Mary’s 1st Nation passed away
suddenly at the age of 68. Born in Fredericton, she was a daughter of
the late Harry and Joyce (Sappier) Brooks. Pat was an avid reader, who
also enjoyed gardening and loved her dogs, especially
“Pokie”. She really enjoyed watching the “Blue
Jays” with her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Wayne; her
daughters Heather Currie (Sheldon), Barb Brown (Bill Nash) all of St.
Mary’s 1st Nation; chosen son Ian
Brooks of St. Mary’s; grandchildren Brandi, Shannon, Adie,
Brock, Paige, Brady, Hart, and Rayne; seven great grandchildren; her
siblings Cynthia Brooks, Dale Brooks, Valerie Brooks, Cecelia Paul,
Ted Brooks, Ruth Paul, Chris Brooks, Charles Brooks, and chosen
brother Steve Meuse; several nieces, nephews, cousins and god
children. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a great
granddaughter Skyler Cochrane.
Resting at her late home 160 Maliseet Drive St.
Mary’s 1st Nation with visitation on
Thursday. The funeral service will be held at St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church on Friday January 20, 2017 at 11:00 am. with Father
Monte Peters officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
Bishop’s Funeral Home have been entrusted with the
arrangements. Pallbearers for the service will be Todd Paul, Ian
Brooks, Chuckie Paul-Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Brady Paul and Hart
Brooks.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the
Salvation Army or the Fredericton Anti-Poverty Organization.
