Obituary for Patricia Merry
Born July 11, 1965 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Dr. Colin and Hazel Merry, (Patricia) Trish was predeceased by her mother, Hazel and is survived by her father Colin, her husband Michael, her sons Joshua and Evan, her brothers Andrew (Ming-Hui), and Stuart (Jiang Jing) and her nephews and nieces, Siobhan, Iain, Emma and Alec.
Perhaps the most important thing to Trish was family and relationships. Although her immediate family was small, she developed a strong community that became her extended family, a close-knit collection of people who provided strength, support and love to her and her boys throughout her entire life. Particularly in her final days, the love and kindness of this extended family was received, welcomed and truly appreciated – thank you to you all.
Trish’s utmost pride and joy was being “Mum.” Whether it was running her boys to karate, preparing for the next 2-hour bike ride (“what else do you do with active boys?”), planning the next adventure, or just getting away to Star Lake to breathe and let the boys enjoy God’s great creation with other families, she always considered being Mum her highest priority and greatest purpose.
Trish touched many lives during her time with us. She will always be remembered as a beautiful person and a beautiful soul, who is now a beautiful angel who watches over us.
